How Lyrion works alongside Intercom

Green Fern

We are an Intercom partner, and people reasonably ask what that means in practice: where each product sits, what overlaps, and how a team runs both without one getting in the other's way. Here is the honest version.

The short answer is that they operate at different layers, and the overlap is smaller than it looks.

Where Intercom sits

Intercom is where the conversation happens. It is the inbox, the messenger, the place your customers reach you and your team replies. It is very good at being that, and nothing about Lyrion tries to replace it.

If your team lives in the Intercom inbox, they keep living there. The work still arrives, is triaged, and is answered in the same place it always was.

Where Lyrion sits

Lyrion is the layer underneath: the memory that holds the account context, the agents that act across your tools, and the audit trail that records it. It reaches into Intercom the way a well-permissioned teammate would, reads the thread, drafts or sends under your rules, and logs what it did.

So the agent that handles an overnight queue is doing it inside your Intercom inbox, using Lyrion's context and leaving Lyrion's record. The two are not competing for the same job. One is the room, the other is the colleague working in it.

Running both

In practice a team turns Lyrion on for a queue, watches it work in the inbox they already use, and reviews the log in Lyrion. There is no second place to check for the conversation and no migration off Intercom. The point of a partner integration is that it feels like one system doing more, not two systems to reconcile.

Approvals, scope and reversibility all apply exactly as they do anywhere else. The channel being Intercom does not change the rules. It just changes the door the work comes through.

Why partner rather than rebuild

We could have built a worse inbox and asked you to move into it. Instead we built the layer that was actually missing and let it work where your team already is. That is the whole thesis: the value was never in owning the conversation surface. It was in the context, the actions and the record underneath.

So the integration is not a marketing badge. It is the shape of the product. Lyrion is designed to make the tools you already chose do more, and Intercom is a clear example of that.

The part people underestimate

Most of the value is not the reply itself. It is that the context is gathered, the history is attached, and the decision a person still makes arrives already framed. The queue stops being a pile of cold threads and becomes a short list of real decisions.
